Are you referring to the Touring and not the Tourer. The Touring takes a 180 rear, the Tourer took the standard 240.
Couldn't help you in either case, I'm not a car tire proponent. But to get a good answer from the experts you should clarify which size you're looking for.
Back when I had lost leave of my senses (I was running a CT then), I suggested the following to several riders and they liked it alot: Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grid
Knowing what I know, having ridden this machine on both the dark and the brightside, I would strongly recommend the latter, if for no other reasons than for rider safety and overall handling.
I run a 205/55-16 Runflat because I use to build tires and regular CT have thin sidewalls that can puncture easy. Runflats are reinforced on the sidewalls thus preventing flat conditions.
Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT()
Wet traction rated high at Tirerack.com. I run at 40PSI because at 36PSI, bike didn't like leaning at slower speeds.
I have run car tires on my last 3 bikes, but haven't tried the run flat yet. It seems to make sense that the RF would hold up much better in case of a flat or damage to side. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Has anybody tried a smaller tyre ie: 185 for a R3T. The original tyre is the 180 so would think that the CT should be around the same
Rim width for the R3R is 200mm and the R3T is only 130mm
