I don't know why you are all saying that fuel gauges are not accurate. Mine is. The only thing to be aware of is that the float is pushed to the top for the first gallon or so, and sitting on the bottom for the last gallon. Not much you can do about that. The little light comes on usually between 150 and 180 miles, the fuel gauge is sitting on the red warning lines, and it will take 4.5 gallons to fill it. It has done this consistently for over 100,000 miles.
