Washed my bike the other day, went for a ride afterwards needed fuel, I opened the fuel cap and about 20millileters of water just poured into the tank from the edge of where the cap closes, wasn't much I could do about it so just put 98 ron in and rode away...... got home from work the other night, rode home in the rain and just out of pure curiosity thought I might open the fuel cap and see if there was water there...... yep even riding in the rain..... another approx 20 mil of water poured straight into the tank!!

Now water in fuel is not a good idea so have added a dispersant, but how do I stop the water getting into that cavity anyone know?

?? Have to look at my Rocket, but any bike I remember has a drain so that doesn't happen, maybe hose plugged or pinched.

Looking at a spare 06 classic tank I’ve got in my shop, there’s a drain port for such accumulations. You’ve likely got a blockage.

P.S. once clear of the tank, rubber hoses take the drainage to below the engine casings. A pinched hose could get same end results.

Thanks will look at it on the weekend, saw the hole and wondered but thought it might have just been a vacuum breather of some sorts....
