Since I may be faced with the Rocket Tourer being outfitted with the same "old" colors I have started to "psych" myself up towards warming up to a potential buy of a 1700 Thunderbird...if they are still available in March (starting in February for negotiations). If the Rocket Tourer doesn't come thru I believe I can easily "downsize" to the Thunderbird much like RocketDaryl (or should it now be "ThunderDaryl") and feel great about the switch. I'm really liking the color (red...I think blended with a little black...meets my requirements in color), the power available and since I have already demo-ed one and like the sound...it shouldn't be too hard to plunk the cash on one.

I'm still aiming for the R3T...but if it fails to "jazz" me with a proper "factory" color scheme then I think I'll be in good hands sitting in the saddle of a 1700T.

You aren't going to buy an R3 because of the color, and you are going to buy a T-bird because of the sound .....

Are you ok?
Has the sand over there filtered into something important? :p

No, just getting older I guess, I've had the biggest touring bike (Gold Wing), and I've had the pleasure of owning and riding the biggest "stock" cruising bike (my 07), the power of the Rocket I really enjoy but I'm just saying that if the color isn't right (and it might come out in Red again...you never know), I'll just move on "down" to the T-bird...if I can get the Haze red, then I will be owning the "biggest" inline twin (not a V twin)...it's still a Triumph and after being over here for so long...I'll just be happy to be riding again.

If the 2011 R3T does come in Red or Red/Black...then I may have a dilemma, if they continue with that accessory laden mindset for the same price...I will probably stay with the R3T. Still have plenty of time to change my mind either way. It's just that if I do go to the T-bird, I don't want it to be a "hasty" decision I want to be comfortable with the idea first.
