Fellow Aussie R3 owners will be painfully aware of how much we are shafted over here on tyre prices. I seem to recall hearing someone say that significant savings can be made by ordering tyres online from the US. Has anyone else heard this? Will installers here fit tyres not purchased from them?

All comments welcome,

It can be done, but you need to buy 2-3 at a time to make it worthwhile. If you can get a few others in on a group buy it would definately be worth it. Usually the motorcycle wreckers will fit tyres that they didnt sell, but other shops will do it.They may charge extra as they are missing out on a tyre sale.

Dunno but I reckon the freight will kill it??

If you use the USPS calculator for a tyre this size and weight, it quotes a price of USD247.

Mind you, I dare say it could be arranged for less than this if someone in the US was interested enough....????
