Catalyst CatBox Cats R3T

Dennis,
Appreciate the info. I'm confused on the cat situation for the 08 R3T as other threads indicate the cats are housed in each silencer. I could remove the right silencer and check but I know others on this site already have the answer. Can someone please let us know where the cat(s) are located?

Thanks for the info on F6 I'll compare 20233 to 20288.

Which tune comes a California R3T? I bought bike on 9.11.10 in Grass Valley Ca and rode it to Wichita KS in 31 hours(IronButt). Out of 15-20 bikes this is the best bike I've toured on. Russell Day Saddle.

RL,
The Touring models have the cats in the stock silencers.

The CA models use a different map, and add a charcoal canister for the fuel tank overflow.

A good custom map and the R3T really wakes up.

Dennis this info answers the cat question. So I'm back to downloading the correct tune. Tom indicated the 20288 is correct for the my TORS. I'm sure you understand my many questions as I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake that might cost a lot of money to correct.

Any feedback on the 20288 tune, is this the right choice?

RL, my bad, I mistook the Exhaust Link Box for the cat, my bike is also from Cal and it had the 20233 map.

RL, I researched the 20288 map and it is for:

Tiger 1050
Arrow exhaust
E-Marked silencer
without secondary air injection

I believe the tune he referred to was 20258:

Rocket III Touring
Aftermarket exhaust

Glowing Header

My mistake on the 20288 tune, I meant to say 20228 as in previous threads. That said, I downloaded 20258. Normal operation as near as I can tell. However the exhaust glows red while idling. Is this normal?

I'm getting ready for a 1500 mile ride. Must make sure I haven't done anything to jeopardize the Rocket.

I called the Triumph dealer just to double check that I downloaded the correct tune and they said they couldn't help me unless I come in and let them connect to bike. They also said there is probably an updated tune.
