Any future plans for TuneECU to run on MacBook Pro?
I have a MacBook Pro 13" in which I have just installed Windows 8 in a partition using Boot Camp. I haven't had time to give it a try. Not sure if it will even work on a Mac.
Boot camp makes the Mac into a full Windows PC, you're literally running Windows on the hardware directly like on any other Intel processor based PC, so it should work perfectly there. Parallels is cooler though, running Windows apps right on the Mac desktop.
The only issue I can think that will run into is Windows Driver Signing. To get around it, select windows from the boot camp menu and immediately press and hold f8. Select disable windows driver signing enforcement, there ya go. Its a temporary work around, so you'll have to do it each time.
In other news my ELM 137 dongle arrives tomorrow so I'll have confirmation of Bluetooth functionality on a Google Nexus 4 (LG-E960) if it works
Took it out for a ride today with the BAFX Dongle. TuneECU does work, but there a couple of problems, not sure if it is the dongle, the phone, the software, or some mix of interactions between those three. TuneECU updates too slow to use the tach and the speedometer doesn't work at all. Everything else works otherwise.
Tried out Torque instead, updates very fast and can use it to watch tach accurately. Speedo works, as does coolant temp and intake air temp, but voltage doesn't so its a give and take.
So results for nexus 4, remain .....maybe and sort of
Just picked up a 2011 rocket 3 last month and am totally in love. Curious about TuneECU. Where would I get a map to unlock the bikes full potential? Not as if it is weak, not by a LONG shot hahahaha, the bike is just incredible! However, if it's possible to improve, I'm always interested. Thanks!
