I see the FTDI (D2XX) stuff, is that something I need thats not included in the program?
FTDI is NOTHING TO DO WITH EITHER M-SOFT or TuneECU.

FTDI (Future Technology Devices International) make chipsets - generally what are used in the cable - which is NOT use restricted to TuneECU. ESSENTIAL. I'm not sure FTDI (a company) authorises repackaging of its' drivers.

BEFORE INSTALLING DRIVERS IN XP - BACKUP THE BLOODY PC - I've seen some M-Soft BSD (Blue Screen of Death) with drivers that do not match.

If 'twere me I'd find a way to upgrade to Win7 FAST. Starter Edition is fine. Avoid Win8 (and 8.1) like the plague. Also if you're maybe a bit PC challenged - might be worth finding a mate to give you a hand.

I hate 7 and 8, I've maintained my XP well and it so far is running everything smoothly.

Speaking as a professional :- 7 is fine - Vista was crap and both flavours of 8 are terrible. Intend to test Win10 tomorrow at work. Privately - I use Linux.

XP was a good solid OS - but cannot take advantage of newer hardware. I've had enormous issues finding XP drivers for some equipment too recently - esp since M-Soft ceased support 100%. Some Korean stuff or esoteric gear from Taiwan will still come with XP drivers - but the future is now very clear.

Had some issues getting the cable to work, kept getting comp4port disabled or something the likes, then driver issues lol. Manually installed the drivers and restarted the PC and its running smooth as glass now. Connects to the bike like a charm. Now just fully understanding the program is the goal!

Hey @barbagris - the Win 10 trial contains keyloggers and Microsoft literally records everything you do on the trial. Personally chose not to even test it because of that. Just be aware.
Not if you turn them off ;) and do wonderful things with professional grade firewalls. - btw the 32 bit is a bit wonky in Virtual box. 64 bit seems stable-ish. But in many ways (from a business perspective) better than 8 and 8.1.

Windows7 sends info to M-Soft every 14 days or so too - Unless you STOP IT. i.e. HACK it. This was discovered during the initial "licence avoidance" tests documented on certain forums.
