I haven't tried it yet but my guess is that if you have a bluetooth dongle (ELM 327) that you pair the dongle with the tablet for the connection. No cable is necessary. Note that a bluetooth connection does not allow you to read or load maps, just perform diagnostics and testing according to the website.
The other option is to use your existing OBDII to USB cable and add the USB to Micro-USB adaption (shown below) to allow it to plug into the tablet.

The map part I'll never trust from a phone, too much at risk.
On the other hand, the ability to check/clear codes via a phone as well as use it for a display for all the gauges the lazy Triumph engineers saw fit to omit on the Rocket makes it well worth it imo.
Coolant temp and Voltage being the main ones. Coolant temp is kinda a "no-brainer" on any sort of street driven performance vehicle, totally pathetic they couldn't be assed to add it to the digital displays on the newer rockets.
I use this dongle on my Galaxy S4 to my truck and it works great. I just downloaded TuneEcu and it installed and runs fine on my phone. We'll have to see if connects to my bike or not. Don't buy knock off dongles, they are crap. Make sure it comes from RioRand.
