Tune for turbo required.

Hi i have just installed a turbo running at about 5 psi , I have fitted an innovate o2 gauge to monitor afr. I have a rising rate fpr fitted as well. Does anyone know of or can recommend best tune or tuning process . I have tunecu capability as well. Thanks.
 
My guess would be most of the turbo bikes out there are using ecu tune and power commander stuff so you can also get boost fueling and timing changes. There probably running more the 5 psi so you have that safety factor. Of couse the neat thing is you are in 1 bar area so your map sensor will work. A pcv and you can work on a boost mapping using the ectra pick up on the pcv. And tune by gear. Man I wish I had time to play.
 
Thanks for that Warp, i have been reading up on the Pcv and auto tune would the auto tune be worth getting or should i just get it dyno tuned . Not sure if the auto tune works with boost but sounds like it might if it reads the map sensor thats still in range.
 
Maybe WARP knows something or means something I do not know, but each time I have tried to use the stock MAP sensor with boost the ECU throws a code and bike does not play well. For boost sensitive mapping you will need to have a MAP reference to your PCV. ( read instructions with PCV) I feel that you will have to stop the stock MAP sensor from seeing boost. Get to a proper tuner, if you do not know how to do it yourself, or if you wish to learn, grab some spare parts off ebay while they are cheap
 
No in this case I'd say warp was thinkingvout loud and should have waited for you to post
 
Ok i have a little tuning issue , i have raised the f trim values 15 % from 2000rpm up and and above 3% throttle position . Thats all fine im running in the 12 's afr range when giving it to her. My question is how do i adjust the idle afr as its running rich at 11.1 to 1 , I tried dropping the f trim 25% at 1000rpm down and it made no difference. Am i missing something ,? Thanks in advance for any enlightment.
 
With the stock mapsensor installed,the engine shall not running well from 1 to 8/10 % throttle because the mapsensor is made by Hinckley for reading vacuum/NA range ,not boost.Even when the engine is running at idle, the airflow is not the same as a NA engine because the turbo is already blowing /pressing air to the blades at 1% throttle. The mapsensor gets 'confused'.
As far as I know PC doesn't manufacture mapsensors for the Rlll and if you intend to get some 3 bar mapsensor you have to 'dial in' first the voltagerange of that mapsensor concerning the ECU. Or Carpenter is selling a 3bar sensor for the Rlll. Just like Neville is suggesting you have to stop the mapsensor first. And stepper too, my opinion.
After doing so, tuning the engine at throttle without any mapsensor is possibly causing you or tuner some headache after some time.
