Oh now, as we used to say in the military -- "The 'hard' we do today. The 'impossible' takes a little longer."

Kind of like the saying I see at the fitness place I go to every day. "Today's hard workout is tomorrow's easy workout". My comment to that...What a bunch of crap! It never gets easier.:rolleyes::eek:

Not to hijack this thread -- apologies to the OP -- I would love to remove the backrest from the Givi box (it's tiny and sticks in my wife's back as much as gives her support) and be able to put the Triumph backrest back on there the way you have yours. And who knows -- maybe then you'd get back to the the grab handles project. ;)

Here is my new (to me) R3 with all the Corbin stuff on it. Te previous owner went Corbin crazy, he installed a Corbin batwing fairing, heated seat, saddlebags and of course the trunk. The trick is that the trunk is not made for the classic, only the touring as BillyIndiana pointed out. The guy solved the issue with his hinge system. Someone asked me to submit some pics on how it worked so here you go (not sure if the pics should be thumbnail or full)

. As you can see in the pics the saddlebags won't open completely as the trunk is in the way, so the trunk needed to be able to move out of the way. I think he used the key switch from the original seat (maybe). I am sure you can see where the key goes below the trunk, this releases the lever to allow the trunk to hinge down. Inventive solution by the previous owner.
Passing through Kamloops mid June. Fancy a coffee?

Projects, projects, projects...so many ideas and so little time. Truth be told, I get all these ideas and start making them never realizing how much work they are going to be in the end to make. I was riding my bike today in cool temperatures glancing down at my roll bars and got to thinking about how I might make some custom made plastic lower. What is the matter with me? Do I have any idea how much work that is going to be!! It's a sickness I tell you. I need help! :banghead: :notworthy::confused: I too am sorry for the hijack.
