Stupidly easy parking brake trick

Now you've got me thinking, a jack is a great idea for cleaning the wheels if you have a flat area to work on but apart from my cramped garage all areas are a bit er.... slopey. Evening sun is at the front of the house but living on a hill sitting out polishing wheels is tricky but the wheel roller (and charity band) sounds like a plan for summer evenings. Need to source the roller. Thanks for the idea.

The jack I used was the scissor jack out of my pickup.

The Velcro strap is a great idea, I never thought of that!, I have a Bike lift modified for the R3T just made longer arms to make it more stable to clean the back and front wheels ,a tip is to mark the balance points so I get it right every time.

I sure would like to see how you modified your lift to accommodate the R3. I gave up trying to lift mine today and am lying on the floor polishing wheels.

get yourself a lift TABLE and never look back (I saw the light last fall)

I feel your pain. Been there, done that.

You might want to look into the Flitz polishing balls and their metal polish combo, I haven't gotten mine yet but they look like the solution for cleaning the wheels without too much agony. A 2 inch to get into the nooks and crannies and a 5 inch for polishing the larger areas. http://www.flitz.com/buff-ball-super-mini-2/

The velcro and charity band ideas are brilliant.

For old farts like me, the Harbor Freight lift table for $299 can't be beat. I also have a Black Widow scissor lift for getting the rear wheel up in the air.

As far as polish, I'm amazed with California Customs Purple Polish. It does a great job.
