Trouble connecting....

I had the same issue with connection problems and I had the wrong cable. I got a cheap one and it didn't work. I got the more expensive one and it worked perfectly. The drivers won't matter if the cable isn't right.

This one works:

That's the one I bought....

FWIW the Android app works flawlessly without having to futz around with drivers and Windows. I think it's around $14 in the Google Play store.
F-it!!! I am buying a cheap android tablet, and adapter cable and will go about it that way. Just done with it.:banghead:

Assuming you have an Android phone, open the Play store and search for TuneEcu. Pay, download, and install.
TuneECU - Android Apps on Google Play

Save the tune you want to load to your phone.

Ensure your Rocket battery is fully charged or on a battery tender. Remove the fuse for the headlights (optional), should be under one of the side panels.

Connect the cable from your phone to your Rocket (interface cable plug located between battery and rear fender). I used the Lonelec cable and it worked first time no problem.
Diagnostic Interface for TuneECU Motorbikes

Once you're connected to the Rocket, backup the existing tune to your phone, then load the new tune you want.

Disconnect, turn the Rocket off then on, then wait 12 minutes with zero throttle input (optional), reset once more then you're good to go.
I bought a inexpensive tablet from Amazon, and when I went to the Google App Store, it said that the TuneEcu app was not compatible. But it is an android device .... Do I need to upgrade software, or should I return the tablet, or is there a certain version of android that I need to make sure that I get it? This is really irritating
Any help that can be provided, will be very welcomed!

Non-stop problems, huh? That's gotta be frustrating. You're 100% certain you've got an Android device (not a Amazon Fire-based device)? I've never heard of TuneECU not running on an Android device. Runs great on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone.

What was the specific incompatibility message? Have you tried accessing the Play store through the Play app instead of through the website?

I went through the Google play app on the device, and looked up TuneECU app, and it said that it wasn't compatible for this device. And the device specifically is android that is why bought it. So I'm wondering if I have an outdated version of android, and is there a way to upgrade by download, or do I need to send back the device and get something else?

Strange, I can't answer that, you might have to reach out to the software manufacturer: Alain Fontaine, meeou@tuneecu.com.

I just noticed you're in SoCal... where abouts? I'd be happy to meet up and give you a hand.

The app says it needs Android 4 or higher. My kindle fire is based on Android but it isn't true a true Android device. There are apps available to convert it.

I get the same message and my android version says 4.4.2 I would say that's higher than 4.0 like the tune ecu app says.
