About twice a year I lead the test rides for the Zero Bikes(electric bikes) although not my cup of tea they are fun to ride and yes they can get up and go.

What sort of range do these Zero bikes you test have? I've only seen one in the UK so far and that was limited to 70 miles if, and a big IF, ridden very conservatively. 35 mile range if ridden normally!!
