I was talking to the owner of the local Dealership today about ECU maps..

He tells me that the Explorer ECU is protected against unathorised change, as I understand the ECU has 2 memory logs and it locks up redering the bike unusable.

Solution is Dealer send the ECU to Triumph UK for unlocking or you spend $2000 + for a new ECU unit..:(

What are things coming too when you can't mod your ride ??

That 1200 motor in the Explorer goes hard enough to get you into serious trouble ... thing seriously flys :D

I thought that about the 2300 R3 when I first straddled it.. but after a few month it seemed to me to be a bit slow.. so the Mod fever set in and now it's pretty slick :D

Not to worry, some creative genius will come up with a way to bypass the ECU shutdown mode, and sell it for a tidy profit. Ain't capitalism great?

Dobeck fits between the ECU and the throttle bodies,
just plug-n-play too.
Can't alter the upper end restriction,
but not many of us really need to go over 140 very much anyway.
Now there are some who just wouldn't feel like they were riding
unless they were bumping up against 200 regularly,
but most of us are cool with 140 I would think.
I know I am anyway.
But back on topic for a second,
I would like to ride that 1200 tiger once or twice.
