TPS Redux

It looks like my TPS is starting to go. In reading through the service manual, it calls for removing the throttle bodies prior to replacing the TPS. Is this really necessary?

Also, since I obviously don't have a Triumph diagnostic tool set nor a Tuneboy, what is the procedure to calibrate the new TPS?

Just get a GSXR one. I heard they were the same.
 
So Herr Hombre, when you personally validated the TPS interchangeability, you didn't mention the reverse wiring.................
