Depends on how “long ride” is defined. I’ve done a few 10k mile rides with nothing but my AMA and Visa cards and tire repair kit.
I’ve definitely had mechanical issues, but I’ve just had it towed to the mechanic vs trying to fix it on the side of the road. Don’t even get me started on a detent spring repair...
