So I have just gone and bought another Rocket 3 today. It’s a 2009 with 30k km’s. Needs some tidying but for $4500CAD it was a bargain ( About $3500 US ).
Now the gamble bit. When just ticking over and at a standstill the bike is difficult to change gear and difficult to find Neutral, however as soon as you start to move it goes through the gears fine and can easily find neutral like expected. Like i say i took a gamble buying the bike hoping it wasn’t too serious a problem.
anyone with any ideas or know what it is i would be great full
DO all the above, but it wouldn't be the first bike I saw that was easier to shift with a little movement. It's a sequential transmission after all...even when adjusted dead to spec it's going to work better while moving...even just shuffling back and forth.
Took your advice thank you. Clutch adjustment and correct oil level.
Spent 2 hours giving it a good cleaning and polishing today and well.... you can see the before and after. Feel like I stole it comes to mind
What a bargain ! Even if you had to spend 2grand on a new gearbox , it would still be far cheaper than you could find one of that age and mileage this side of the pond . Well done you !

In about 4 months both of them will be on their way to the UK. I’m moving back and intended bringing this one back for my Dad anyway. He can ride it now and have it in 4 months permanently
