throttle response over 4k

check with tunecu to see if the secondary's are opening to 100%. if not you can put them at 100%. i set mine to 100% anytime above 3000 rpm.

I think you need to change your idea about what the rocket is as far as performance goes... It's got a huge amount of Torque from the bottom end, you can change gears earlier and still go flying... The performance your describing is something that is common with Inline 4's and Smaller engines that need a lot of RPM, you get the "Rush" after going past 6000RPM for example... I test rode a Triumph Tiger Explorer with the 1200cc I3 and it was like this, it kept pulling and pulling and it was great! 135HP. this bike in its stock form isnt like that... It just has different characteristics, but I can agree with you it would be nice to feel it keep pulling harder and harder as the RPMS go up.. but you'll want to look into something else for that kind of effect. I dont want to add pipes and air intakes to my bike as it cost a lot of money but I've come to accept this is what it is.

Nice reply and thank you. I think I threw everyone off talking about power increase where that is not my primary concern right now. I just think there is a way to get this throttle to pull throughout the rpm bandwidth. Maybe I'll install a power commander V and just mess with it. I don't know. This bike is cool, but not all that fast stock from the factory. My FJR would take this bike 0-60, through the quarter, and top end. That throttle would just keep pulling past redline. However, I didn't like the looks or ride of that bike and this is much more my kind of bike and certainly not a dog. Just got get it set up right so I'm asking questions. Seems to offend a number of people but asking is how I learn. I don't know if I want new exhaust at all. Went through all that in my Harley days. Just don't like the way Triumph has this throttle set up. Maybe you are right, just come to accept how this is but I'm not ready to accept that yet. Might get there.

Yep, I felt that as well. Coming from a Hayabusa I missed the bite over 4000, initially.

I did the following within the first few months:
- TORs mufflers (cheap and not loud, and they look just like the standard mufflers),
- Ramair filter (cheap and gives you a little trunk under the seat where the original filter was),
- ecu derestriction (TuneEcu which is even cheaper: just the price of a cable) and
- a dyno tune.

That will make the throttle more lively over 4000 and give you that extra bite. Enough to equal an FJR anytime, at least at the traffic lights.

It will also make you addicted to further improvements, just like me and many others... I have recently bested the RWHP of my old Busa, just by adding CES headers and a tune. Engine has not even been touched (yet).

It's just so simple to let her breath and enjoy loads of added power... and thanks to this forum, you can easily get the info you need for that.

you can not dump a lot of extra gas in her because you will ruin (melt down the cat/mufflers. you can open the secs with out trouble but if you do much more the cats will have to go.

Very interesting. Yea. Upgrading does bring on more upgrading. Kind of like remodeling the house.
I should look into the TORs because I like the stock look of the standard mufflers.
Thanks for the advice.

Good to know. Nothing wrong with some warnings.

It's strange to expect a 340kg Cruiser to feel and operate like a big bore sports bike , although there are a good few bike owners on here that have achieved what your looking for with the right mods , after seeing how well Mittzys bike performed last weekend is have to say his mods/upgrades have hit the nail on the head .

What numbers did it pull ?
