throttle response over 4k

Good to know. Nothing wrong with some warnings.

Actually, the cats are in the standard mufflers. Installing TORs mufflers, you can keep the cats on file in your garage without using them.

But there's one more thing: coming from a bike like the FJR, you will probably underestimate whats happening while you pull the throttle on the Rocket. It's like "hey, I am going full power but the engine doesn't rev higher quickly!"
Only if you have another bike dragracing you, it will be obvious that for some strange reason, the other guys can never keep up. Because yes, the engine speed is not changing a lot. BUT look at the speedo!

I get all that and I appreciate the comments, but I have a lot of years on these riding legs and I can read a speedo and a tach. This bike has the power up to 4k then still accelerates but pretty obvious that I'm out of the main power range. It's fine if you like it. I do not. I'm enjoying most of the responses on here and am learning a lot. At some point, when I'm ready, I'll do some mods. Unlikely that I'll ship this off to Carpenter but I am going to call them, along with others. Thank you for your polite reponses. I really do appreciate those.

It should pull like a teenage boy all the way up to the red line. If yours runs out of steam at 4k then there is something wrong. Bog standard, you should be hitting 60mph in about 3 to 4 seconds, depending how good you are off the line.

10 days ago took bike to meet my brothers(different ride and story)coming home from work wed.day son was driving my dodge cruising at around 90 he was next to me playing with throttle more or less teasing him at around 105 dropped into 4th twisted throttle open at 125 or so hit 5th gear 130/135 I backed out rockets do not give out over 4k

I kind of like the stock exhaust. Definitely not seeking louder. I'll have to think about what I can do with power later. Maybe my goal right now is to improve the overall throttle feel. Am I the only one that feels the rocket kind of craps out over 4,000 rpm, especially in the lower gears? Too new of a bike yet for me to really stretch it out. Still breaking it in. But as I begin to take it up there, it just seems like I should just shift about 3500 - 4000 to really keep this thing in it's power band.

Afraid you be incorrect about that, "feels the rocket kind of craps out over 4,000 rpm".
The bike will pull strong up past 6000 rpm!
Better chuck your butt dyno for a real one!
Now I see @tdragger has posted a Lush dyno that proves what I be saying.
Bottom line is stock; Top line (blue) is Reband w/unifilters; second line (red) is Jardine w/unifilters; Third line (green) is TORs w/unifilter.

It might be the Tourings influence or just the Old and Wise attitude to riding my rocket ,the only time my R3 has and will ever see 65000 RPM was on the Dyno, if I wanted sports bike performance I could have gone the B king ,Busa,or Kawasaki H2 route ,I just let the torque run the bike up to speed, first gear to 4th very quickly then 5th anything over 90kph ,amongst my riding group nothing keeps with My Touring at top gear roll ons two up from 100kph to 140kph, that includes a Busa,Harleys(of coarse) and a Honda FB6, most of them jump away by changing down a couple of gears but not in top gear

@bbach did you get the rocket used? Is it possible someone screwed with the tune before? I'll echo there's something wrong if it's not responsive above 4. It's not gonna gonna feel like a turbo kicks in, but it's got the same responsiveness on up the line. My only mods are Tors, filters, secondaries removed, and tune, and I have the same throttle response all the way through 6. I'm thinking if yours starts weakening at 4 there's definitely something amiss!

Can confirm, I've taken my bike up to 6500RPM on the roads here recently and it does indeed pull all the way with out a hint of getting tired, I would double check your bike...
