third gear

i have a 2012 roadster w/15k miles, bought new 1 year ago w/4 miles on odo
stock motor, oil changed every 3k. no scheduled maintenance performed.
is it my imagaination or am i having a third gear problem?
starting from cold,
the first time you go into third it just seems stiff, requires a good pull.
after that it appears to work ok.
every now and then in traffic it seems a little stiffer but i cannot tell if it is getting worse or now that i noticed it i am paying more attention.

It seems to me that I read somewhere here that someone else had a similar problem and all that was needed was the external shifter linkage adjusted.I think it was binding up.

Also check your clutch adjustment. It has to be EXACTLY correct, as per the manual, or you will have problems.

btw, If you are changing the oil every 3,000 miles then you are throwing money away. Scheduled maintenance is every 10,000 miles, and manufacturers are going to make services earlier rather than later because they don't want problems. If you don't believe the engineers then maybe change at 7,000 to be doubly cautious - or just change the filter every 5,000 miles. Modern full-synth oils are a very different animal from the old fossil oils.

Have you lubed all the linkage and all moveable parts? And clutch adjustment is critical and very easy to do, search under clutch adj.
