Could not be much worse than what I flew in in Vietnam:D. An RU8D. Liked the RU21 better...

Beech RU-8D "Twin Bonanza"

well ..I think flying IFR in a single engine with low power and minimal ice protection is a bit risky in weather ..IMHO although 17 000hrs later give me perspective.

why would you want to fly IFR in a musketeer?????? are you sure !!

Turns out, I don't.
That was two years ago, and while I did equip the Mousketeer as an IFR trainer, I have since sold it and gone back to renting.
Much respect to you as a high hour pilot, I have somewhere around 2% of those hours.
In talking with many, much more experienced pilots like yourself, I decided that single engine IFR was not for me. Furthermore, I decided that what I really enjoy is flying in solid VMC in an airplane that someone else takes care of. So I sold the plane, bought this:
and went back to renting.
I got my complex endorsement so that I could rent something a little faster, and now I fly nicer planes for less money than it costs to own.

Hmmmmm. Seems I remember quite a few abrasive posts on .com hence my protracted absence. Please play nice here.

I hope it wasn't me that drove you away. If it was, I'm sorry.
Yes, I have put up a number of antagonistic and abrasive posts, but generally they're in response to someone else's nastiness. Typically, I show someone as much respect as they show others.

I'll try to play nice....

Yup, I was never too enthused about flying over to the Bahamas from Florida in a single engine. Too much water:D
