All 06 Rockets worldwide are supposed to have a full catbox. Best to get rid of that thing and retune if you want to feel what the Rocket is really capable of.

The Staintune 3-1-3 system is very similar to the Triumph offroad exhausts, which I have, but you should get the Staintune "collector" or the Triumph catbypass pipe to get full power benefits from the pipes. You'll also get more noise but with the proper ECU tune to go with, you'll feel a nice boost in power. My fuel consumption didn't change when I changed my exhausts, though you do tend to want to give her more throttle with her after the mods and more liberal "hand jobs" will decrease your fuel efficiency.

You don't have to change your air filter for the pipes but I'd at least switch to a K&N filter for just a tad more power. You'll probably be looking at more extensive air intake mods though if you get bit by the power bug... I see triple filters and ram air in your future.

G'day all, John you sound as though you are in the same boat as me in regards to the cat box.

I looked at the Staintune system, Very nice and VERY expensive if you add in the cat eliminator pipe!

I have decided to get a set of Jardines 3-1-2. These get rid of the cat box, Triumph does a tune for these pipes and here comes the kicker.

I saw Jardines on "special" from a shop in Queensland for $2,1xx, well my set will be coming from Parts Depot Store in the US.

Advertised price is $899.95US (+/- $1050AUD) with a delivery charge to Australia of $165US ($192.00AUD)

Why pay $700AUD for the Staintune Cat Eliminator when you can get the full system for another $542, let alone the rest of the Staintune system.

I guess it's horses for courses, but if you like the look of the Jardines and they seem to have a good following on here, then why not save a bundle of money?

Cheers!

G'day John,

Haven't got the Jardines yet, have a mate going to the States in October and he is bringing them back for me. They have have one 3 1/2in pipe each side.

I'm not touching the airbox at this stage, maybe change the filter to a reusable, but after having one in the 4WD I'm not convinced they are any better than stock, other than being reusable.

I'll let you know how they go after I fit them.

Cheers
