my stable of two are both giving me grief .. neither of my bikes are going at the present time. Speedie decided it wasn't going to play today , probably the starter I reckon. Rockets been off the road since the Tassie trip. Blown fork seal and battery/ starting problems as well .. annoying !!!!
That's a bit of a bugger, TC. Hope you get at least one of them sorted soon, mate. Anyone up there got a spare ride??
We had a stable of 3 for a while : Amanda's GS500 and America and my Rocket. I always liked the times they all needed filling at the same time. I'd take the GS first and it felt tiny after the Rocket and it made the America feel big(ish). By the time I got back on the Rocket I'd been off it just long enough to get a real blast from the power all over again. It's easy to get used to these things when it's all you ride so it's good to have a refresh every so often.
Speedie is on the bike trailer outside , going to Triumph shop 8am tomorrow. Rocket will have to wait till it gets to WA .. ( our belongings getting picked up on the 12th ) I'm going to outlay the $1,500 for Wilbers frontend kit like Ponters has on his bike. Not forgotten how planted his bike felt when I was riding it. Do the fork seals and anodise the spare set of brake calipers silver at the same time.
Wow, I've had the exact same stable! Got rid of the ZRX in 2006 though cuz the fouled carbs were too much to deal with. Weekly issues for me and two of my buddies with the same bikes. Have a Rocket and Bonnie now. You haven't had a Ducati ST4S or a Kawasaki Eliminator 900, have you? If so, we we definitely separated at birth.
Nice livery, I am down to just a single at the moment, my R3T (my estranged wife has a ES500 Ninja if that counts). I do like the idea of having more than one road bike at a time to use for different chores and or purposes. Counting dirt bikes, I once had a CR500, XR100, YZ250, VMAX, Ninja 500, R6 and a Shadow 500 all in the garage to choose from. I miss the old days... But if I am destined to have just one bike, the Rocket is truly ok my me.
It's amazing to me that such a big bike is so nimble, anyone who complains that the Rocket is too heavy, obviously hasn't taken the time to love it. The ZRX1100 is great but needs a new gas tank and a carb clean. It was my first street bike, and I love it. Now I need/want a dirt bike.
