Sorry for the delay guys but with one thing and another had to put the demo ride off untill today. Doug you asked me how the V Rod compaired to the Rocket, I can now tell you, not very well ! Firstly I was gobsmacked by the size of this beast it makes the V Rod feel like a scooter. It seemed to make power anywhere and everywhere, where as the V Rod needs about 3500/4000 RPM to get it going the rocket does it much lower down. It is by far more comfortable than the V Rod, handles much better than the V Rod more ground clearance also. Fit and finish looks pretty good. I think the V rod would probably out break it due to it's ABS being standard on the model that I had. The only bike that I can compare it with is the Honda Valkyrie not for power but for presence and comfort. As you can probably tell by this I was impressed with the Rocket. Also there is a clue in this post which reads (the model that i had.)
YES GUYS BOUGHT MYSELF A BRAND NEW BLACK ROCKET 111 TODAY
TAKE DELIVERY ON AUGUST 14TH ;)
Would just like to say thank you to everybody who answered my questions in my first post, look forward to talking to you all in the future.

I test drove several V-Rods before I got my Rocket in 2004. Now, of course, everything seems small by comparison. However, the stock 1/4 mile times are basically the same. What put me off the V-Rod was the stock fit and finish. Crappy rubber pegs, black kick stand. I would have also gotten different bars and seat. The Rocket definitely is fitted out better and of course the power was so awesome I ordered one right after my demo ride. I also wound up spending a lot on a different seat and bars but at least the other stuff was first rate. Happy riding with yours!

My wife and I were given a V-Rod to ride when were buying her Trophy. What I really noticed is the total lack of low-end torque! It did have a ton of power up top, but I'm just spoiled to the Rocket I guess!.. :)

Congrats on the purchase, be sure to post some pics. I'd like to ride a V rod just for the heck of it. Looks like the pegs are too far foward for the type of riding one would want to do on it.

Congrats RayJay!

Back in '04 I considered a VRod for a little while. What turned me off? The Godawful riding posture and the lack of low-end torque. Like a Ducati engine fitted to an Arlan Ness chopper. Both having merits, I suppose, but NOT together

Congrats RayJay!

Every V Rod I've ever seen (in my mirrors) seemed kind of crude. Even the Harley guys don't like them :D

Especially the Harley guys, which is a big recommendation for the bike. The V-Rod VRSCA will do 0-60 about the same as the Rocket.
