Hi all

New on here. Have read a bit about handling issues but was wondering has anyone tried and skinnier rear tyre on a standard Rocket? Apparently the R3T's turn a bit better.

Cheers

I'm assuming that you're running the updated tires, not the pre-recall ones?

bazdog, the suspension was obviously made for cruisin at 55mph or the like. Put good shocks and a set of progessive fork springs in and the beast is COMPLETELY different. I´ve good german Wilbers shocks and springs and the bike is rocksolid on high speeds and a way better in the twisties. Wilbers offers up to 25mm longer shocks with springs made to individual riding style and weight and they are perfect for me. The frame and fork themselves are good on the stock bike, but the shocks are appalingly bad and the fork springs simply to soft...Nothing to do with the tire unless your tire pressure is to low. A slight influence is the front tire, sometimes they wear not symmetrically and that is something you notice as well.

Handling and rear tyres

Thanks for the feedback. I have just had the forks fitted with gold valves and springs whilst the rear is running Ikons with springs tailored to my weight. I have only been able to ride around town since but much more nimble steering wise and rides better. Feel more confident to push it.

i learned the bad news that a rear tyre costs $459 in Melbourne Aus. Any one out there have any alternatives?

Thanks again.
