You can see it in my avatar photo. So for just a solo seat, no passenger, I'd remove that mounting plate and the solo seat would attach to the mounting point down near the battery. bottom view note how the mounting plate resembles yours only it is permanently attached to the passenger seat. then it bolts right where the plate is that your removing it is the same only it does not have the rear latch as the unit bolts to the bike. You simply bolt or unbolt it if you want to go solo or dual. The main seat pan has the same latch on both.

you will be just removing the plate on your which has the rear latch and then put the bolts back into the fender frame.
