No mate. Treat them right and they're just fine. Some of us use them as our daily transport as well as fun machine. My Rocket is not only the most satisfying (to put it lightly) bike I've owned, it's the most reliable. Just don't forget they are machines.

The thing that kills the R3 is lack if maintenance. I have put mine through some punishment and have had nothing break --- except a clutch lever (ironically).
I do go through rear tyres quick enough ---- so I also get to grease the final drive more often.

Yep!!!! Ironic we are talking about using the clutch....... Mine was used to soften the impact when it fell over

Back off the throttle a bit with moderate upward pressure on the shifter and you will upshift as smooth as silk...do it all the time and have on all my bikes over 50 years.

I was a clutch user back when I went for second gear and it wasn't there with 8K miles on the bike. Seldom use the clutch since the rebuild on upshift and have had no problems for 40K miles.
