Having read many threads about the problems with the transmission and the detent spring, one of the suggestions has been holding the shifter up/down until the clutch is fully released in order to help diagnose the problem.

My question is would this be a technique that could keep problems from developing in the transmission?

That is, when shifting the gears, rather than:
1) pull in the clutch
2) shift the gear up/down
3) let out the clutch

it would be:
1) pull in the clutch
2) shift and hold shift lever up/down until
3) fully letting out the clutch.

Edit: Would shifting like the second sequence, help prevent broken detent springs, broken/rounded off gear teeth/dogs, bent shift forks?

When Detent spring breaks, bike won't stay in any gear, most times when you back off in any gear, bike will jump out of gear
