Howdy, i know second gear seems to be a big issue with some rockets, i'm having trouble with first gear, put it into gear and its like it goes only half in when try to take off it just pops out and you put it in first again it catches, i was told to take out and clean the unit in the picture (Not my bike), anyone else experience this or able to point me in the right direction?

That's the gear position sensor. Not sure how cleaning that will help 1st gear engage better mechanically....

Anyway. Hows your clutch lever/cable for adjustment?
Really needs to be exactly as per manual (2 to 3mm play)

Normal characteristic on these bikes, when putting it into 1st, there are 2 different "feels".
One is a soft pop and the other is a hard clunk. Even with perfect clutch cable adjustment you can still get the odd soft pop, ime.
If you only get the soft pop rather than the hard clunk, you'll need to take it back out into N, release the clutch lever, then try engage it again.
If you get the soft pop and DON'T do the above, it will likely pop back out (pun intended) like what happens you.

What you just said is exactly what happens, it's my first rocket so still getting to know it, thank you for the reply

I've had my 2015 Roadster ABS a couple months and only ridden it a couple times but each time I've had the poop scared out of me when it popped out of first into neutral. Each time I was half way through a slow left hand turn from a stop light. **** near fell over each time. I am already older than dirt and these things shave more years off my life. Now my gas gauge doesn't work. Anyway, I think I have probably been too soft when pressing down into first because I have definitely felt/heard the difference between the soft and the clunk.

By the way, I figured out how to set up the trip meter to get an idea how much juice I have left in the tank. I figure if I see it has 150 miles on it I better find gas quickly. If someone has clues for me about fixing the gas gauge I'd appreciate them. Also, the odometer window has a clock setting as well. Without a manual I can't figure out how to get beyond the 12 hr or 24 hr setting.
