SAFE Ride System

I often ride with a friend who has the flashing brake lights. When coming to an intersection he has a habit of using his indicators and braking. The only problem is that because his indicators are also running lights and brake lights, both sides start flashing when he puts the brakes on and so I have no idea which direction he is going to turn.

I'm using the TailBlazer setup and it gives the turn signals priority over the flashing running lights when braking. So if you brake with the turn signal on or signal while braking, the brake light still flashes but indicators work normally.

At less than half the price and knowing that it is virtually failsafe (especially the splice-in version), I'll stick with Kisan's tailBlazer unit. Besides, if you are slowing in traffic by downshifting, how hard is it to tap on your brakes at the same time?

I have been using Kisan's signalMinder and pathBlazer products for years, too. These are excellent products which substantially enhance your safety whilst on the road. They are all being added to my R#! Actually, I believe that their signalMinder module has been redesigned to incorporate a brake flashing feature so that with that unit you get automatic cancellation of your directionals, full time running lights at the four corners and decell warning via brake light modulation.

After reading everyone's input I decided to add the SAFE RIDE system; can't be sure how well it's working until I get a chance to ride with some others and get their feedback, but the system is totally independent of any of the R3's wiring - it works on the same principle that an iPhone uses to detect motion. I mounted their LED strip on their license plate frame and ran the wiring in parrallel with the brake/turn signal wiring and then straight to the battery; the sensor mounts on the frame under the side cover on the left hand side. An easy roll off from the throttle will not set it off, but any jerking motion (like braking or downshifting will set it flashing wildly and brightly).

I do like what's been said about the Kisan Pathblazer and I'll probably add that too; I wish I could say that the discipline to 'tap' the brakes when downshifting would always be there, but: if past performance is any indicator of future performance - that ain't gonna happen! :twisted:

You are correct...here is video of the tailBlazer, pathBlazer and signalMinder setup in action on my R3. Cell video quality but you get the idea...

Now now Skip, least we forget that the ( LARGEST ) production bike is the Boss Hoss. Now they only produce about 350 bikes a year and a portion of them are trikes but you can pick up your NADA book and look them up. I know that there are a lot of riders, mostly Harley riders that feel that since they have a car motor in them that they are not a motorcycle at all. Thats what I find that draws me to the Rocket is the fact that it is the Second largest bike built and the Harley riders don't like it either. That makes it a BIG winner in my books.
