Running unoiled K&Ns?

Mr. Tripps,
Pretty sure that WD40 is a SOLVENT not an oil. Don't think I'd want that near my engine intake. I also believe K&Ns are MUCH less efficient without their oil. After cleaning, take a look in the daylight through the gauze. You'll see . . .

WD-40 is not solvent. It is really a lubricant. It's basis is fish oil.
It is Water Displacement - 40th formula.
The original company that created it was trying to make solvents and cleaners, but came up with a lubricant.
Not to cross any feelings but I bought stock in it.
They also have a newer series "specialist" formulas that were acquired from 3 in 1 oils and others.
Rust release, Silicone, Lithium, corrosion inhibitor.
Their new silicone variation is excellent.
Buy their stock.:p

It don't cross my feelings, amigo. Had a case where a fellow was spraying WD40 on the belt of a clothes dryer. It ignited and burned his head up. In the subsequent litigation, the engineers described it as a solvent explaining why it was so flammable.

WD40 has also worked for many years as a terrific grime, oil and grease remover and cleaner on chain driven motorcycles. I can't understand how an oil does this. According to their website, WD40 is only 25% oil. According to the dictionary: a solvent is something capable of dissolving another substance. WD40 does this in spades.

I know, I know . . . what a royal anal retentive SOB I be. The devil IS in the details.
