Running rich on No. 1

In my case a good dyno tuner .I'm lucky to have the guy who tunes Triumph stunt rider Kevin Carmichael's supercharged Rocket about 30 mins ride from me. He's the guy in the Triumph advert when they made the Roadster.He's a nice guy and he even let me try his bike at a show he was giving.
 
Wow. Some interesting theories here.... If it were found it to be common for number 1 to appear richer than 2&3 could it be as simple as cylinder 1 runs slightly cooler than the rear 2 cylinders because it's out in the breeze? Or to look at it a different way the rear 2 cylinders run hotter.

I'd definitely go for that if it were air cooled, maybe the water jacket isn't that efficient?
 
Yeah it would be interesting to find out if there were a temp difference while cruising at speed. Not sure if it would be significant enough to show a physical sign like those shown though.
