RPM Gauge not working properly

Hi guys saw a problem with another tach but mine is different although the fix may be the same not sure..

Problem: The guage now does not go all the way to zero. goes to around 3000 when shut off and when i start it the gauge starts from there so at like 60 its reading like 5 or 6k instead of like 2500..

Everything else appears to be working ok.. (Speedo, lights etc)

FYI: I just put in a new battery a few days ago, i have ridden it a few times since, but it just happened today..

Ignition is in stock location. only mods are tuneboy and jardines.

Let me know what you guys think before i start pulling stuff apart.

Have you checked the errors page on the Tune boy dash yet? Make note of any errors before moving on. Check all wire loom plugs follow the leads clean back to the battery. check relay also while your there just in case.
Have you tried the tach test on the tuneboy? While your at it try the rest of the test on that page.

checked all connections under the tank.. havent checked tuneboy yet for errors.
disconnected battery, reattached after a few mins.. didnt seem to move any, was still sitting around 2500 rpm..
checked this am and its back to zero now?? who knows!!!
will update after next ride. :?: :shock:
