Rockets Across America!!!!

I'll get a list of hotels here in Blue Springs and help get you guys set up. Blue Springs is kind of a yuppieville suburb and most of the hotels/motels are new and nice. Several are just a few miles from my house.

I'm going to assume that Ugarte and Vonbonds are going to be a little tuckered from your ironbutt ride??? Maybe Saturday night we can just order in at my house and drain the liquor cabinet or.... we can go out somewhere or... what ever you guys feel like.

Sunday will be the "Board Meeting" and from the sounds of it you guys will have to scoot right after that?? I figure we will leave my house in Blue Springs about 10 or 10:30 am Sunday to ride over to Sedalia and have BBq lunch from about noon to 2pm.

I'm just kicking around ideas... let me know what you think :D

What I am going to want to do saturday night is pull up to a decent hotel, eat and then relax with a few drinks. If the hotel has a lounge, or there is a bar within walking distance nearby....all the better. Don't want to get back on the Rocket after drinking.

I can't make the following week but could boost the trip up a week.

Regarding Sunday, the BBQ sounds great. It depends on how I feel as to whether or not I take off back home right after, or spend another night. I will probably make that decision sunday morning.

I just sent you a PM and you just answered a lot of my questions with your post above...

Let's leave it set for Saturday Night and Sunday... Sept. 23rd and 24th. Going a week earlier won't help.

If you guys get reservations at the Quality Inn (I just sent you that info) it is a perfect setup for what you want. You can walk to several resturants and a very nice bar, it would be perfect. If anyone else wants the number to the Quality Inn it is: 816-220-7400. Just PM me for complete info...

Edit Note: Stupid Tomo put in the wrong phone number in this post.... it is correct now....

Good point!!!

We need someone from up north and down south... If you could ride in for a day we would love to have ya!!!

Northern Rocket

Tommo, Does Nebraska qualify for a "North" representative? I guess it is north of Kansas, I will try to make it with my Wife. We have to go to a football game on Saturday the 23rd, you know when live up here in Huskerland and you get tickets to a game you HAVE to go!!. I will get more details later on where to go for BBQ. We may drive down Sunday AM and stay Sunday night. I have not worked out the details yet.

Danno, sounds great! I grew up in NJ so we don't exactly have a great college football program near us so I came to love a few rivalries and one is the OU/NU game, always a lot of fun! Don't shoot me but I used to love the Sooners because I love the wishbone offense. Once they dumped that I dumped them. I am a tried and true Volunteers fan (have been for 20+ years now!) :).

Sedalia BBQ

I'm in! Short ride for me in Kansas City. Where is the BBQ place? Ugarte, a suggestion for your ride: We just rode from Sturgis on I-90 to Mitchell on our way back from the rally. Instead of staying on 90 into Souix Falls, we took 37 South from Mitchell to Hwy 50 then East to 29. Beautiful country ride and seemed to cut the corner a bit. If you stay the night in Mitchell as we did a must restaurant/bar is Chef Louie's. Unless you have already ridden it, it would be hard to imagine not riding Spearfish Canyon, it would add an hour to your trip, but worth it!

Thanks much Raymond for the riding tips!

Hey Tomo...eeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww........the number you gave was their fax machine...:flame: :D

I am officially in now too. God help me.

Looks like this is shaping up to be a real wing ding...er...ahhh....wrong bike....I mean Salvo..
