Rockets Across America VI

I guess im gonna have to make room for my 30_06 on my rocket:D

I just need to ask a question about the tail of the dragon,, actually a few questions since i have been hearing a lot of stories about it sooooo...
how long is it?
how dangerous ?
how tight are the curves?
am i gonna kill myself:eek:?
is 20 year riding experience enough to beat the dragon:D
you know, i dont want to go there and make a fool out of myself:(

The Tail of the Dragon: 318 curves in 11 miles. Personally, it's a leisure drive. Get your picture taken. Buy a dragon sticker. You're done.

Now the Cherohala Skyway...that's a Rocket paradise. High speed sweepers for 40 or so miles.

TOO MUCH FUN

Yea you can run the dragon no problem Lupe,
I'm letting my wife run it and wouldn't if I was worried about her ability,
and you've got years more experience than her.
You'll have a blast, no problem.
Just remember, it ain't no race.
Just ride your own ride and you'll be fine my friend.

Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with purchacing a trailer hitch for their rocket tour. If so, where did you get it from? I have access to a small trailer and was trying to get everything set for my trip to maggie valley

There's just 2 primary rules to follow when riding the Dragon:

  1. Ride within your abilities.
  2. STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!
Seriously, do not crowd the centerline. You would be amazed at the number of dip****s that cross the centerline.

Amen and the best tour guides for the Cherohala are Rainman and STB. Look forward to riding East Tennessee with them again.

As for the count, we will be two up sir.

Easy to answer
1-pretty long but pretty short
2-not to bad seen worse
3-A wee bit tight some a wee bit tighter than others
4-Probably
5-For your sake I hope so
6- we all make fools out of our selfs at the RAA meets.
Hope this helps to clear things up:D
