Rocket III Roadster 2014 Failure to start!

poor @Lemieuxfan was just asking for some help. lol

@CanberraR3 you grumpy old man, I thought you would have offered to fix it for him, even if it does involve a 20hr flight each way.:)

anyhow, welcome @Lemieuxfan . I'm sure the guys here will help you with a solution. I'm not much of a tech fella so can't be much assistance but I'm sure you'll get it fixed. Saying that, as far as i know the 2014's shouldn't have the relay problems. 1 thing i can recommend checking is your fuses. I know i had a loose fuse that used to give me intermittent problems from time to time. @HansO actually found that i had a melted fuse. ended up being the female connection under the fuse box had pushed through. fixed that and never had a problem since. Hopefully it is something basic and easy like that for you.

thank-you for that; yes checked the fuses they were all good i think it may have something to do with running the high beams last night and somehow jacked something electrical related. Its under warranty so will have the pro's handle it at the stealership

will definitely do the meet the members; usually i've been posting on triumphrat.net; but like already the response time of R3owners.net; I like your suggestion with the EB kit is this something the dealership can do for a small fee or will they want a small fortune. The bike is definitely still under warranty so I am good there will have do to some additional coordination to get the bike at dealership. Calling castle powersports monday just pisses me off this seams to be something worthy of a recall but triumph is hiding under their desks- bike only has 1300 miles and already needs new ignition system wtf!

triumph does do a mod as a rectification if needed. they try to get away with it but if it is a problem they'll fix it

But Triumphs mod put all the headlight power through the high/low beam switch... Best just go for the Eastern Beaver Relay set up - when ordering one grab a spare relay as they are not "Off the shelf" but are very good quality and I have never herd of any failing. After the EB kit is installed your lights will be loads brighter.

I purchased my Rocket 3 Roadster from Castle Powersports. We must be neighbors somewhat. I work in that area of TN. Anyway, they've always taken really good care of me and their rates haven't been ungodly.

Enjoy and they will make it right!

hello everyone,

new to triumph rolling down the road today and bike just stalled was able to coast to safety also thankfully had a friend help get it on a trailer get it in the garage. has only 1300 miles and just a few weeks ago had its first service last night i did drive it quite a bit with the brights on an possible this may have damaged a relay based on the research of done.

I've got a '14 R3R and ride about 1,000 miles per month with the high beams on at all times (during the day) and haven't had any problems. I'd be surprised if Triumph hadn't fixed the headlight ignition problem that seems to be present on earlier models.

Agreed I was under the impression this issue was rectified on the 2014s

I hope your right; dropped off the rocket this morning at the castle; provided a description of what happened- just riding down main road about 30 mph and stalled out then wouldn't restart. Also mentioned has had some issues with mild surge when initially started so something is going on with the fuel injection.

Broke down saturday so really hoping this is a simple fix and not the first of many system issues i will have with the bike. It is true what they say that there is nothing else out there like it. I jumped on my buddy's streetglide and it rides nice but just doesn't have the ride of the R3.

fingers crosssed- hope i can pick her up today.
