I actually think that it's more impressive to state the motor's actual displacement.

My bike says 2300 in 3 places so I don't want to confuse anyone.

I generally prefer to round up when stating size. For example, 6 7/8 might work with hats but I doubt many of us are that precise with everything.
As you say, (the impression of) size does matter.
