Roadster vs Touring model

My 07 classic had fun today 178 miles before low fuel light came on total of182 miles for 4.3 gallons on that tank by the way ouray colo. Sure is pretty this time of year nice and cool in the mountains to now back to youre regular scheduled program

Ah the Classic! Triumph never ceases to amaze me. It did away with the perfect compromise between full out touring and the Roadster.
I love my 07 Classic. I do not want the "Big Rig" but do want the floor boards and pullback bars. Right now, I wouldn't buy either of the options.
BTW...you must be pretty easy on the throttle for that kind of mileage.(42 mpg!)
I feel great if I get 35! Now I have the Carpenter kit and have not calculated mileage but I will on an upcoming trip.

yes I was just putting along best ive gotten was 45 worst 28 I call mine a classic actually a plain rocket dealer had floor boards on already swapped them with pegs to accomidate another buyer I put the pulled back bars/crash bars/hiway pegs/bags/gel touring seat I would love the carpenter kit but wife says NO something about not enough life insurance?

It would be a real rush to have the carpenter kit and some improved suspension components , but! Is it worth the expense to do the upgrades to a 2005? I would still have the older timing chain ,the older clutch components, the lack of transmission upgrades and other triumph improvements! It may be time for me to sell my bike privately while its still running great and looks good. Staring with a fresh bike may be the best way to go.

If you decide to stick with your current bike or end up buying a newer Rocket, I would highly recommend the Bridgestone rear tire and a taller set of rear springs if you want a little more aggressive handling. I noticed a big difference in compliance after raising the rear end with those 2 fairly easy changes. Just a thought!

Really if you want HANDLING then you probably want something lighter. You may consider looking at Ducati's Diavel or KTM's new (as yet unreleased) 1290 Superduke. I could never give up my baby, but I am always looking to expand the family.

2nd bike

So maybe you can get the second smaller bike in during the night or when your wife is OOT so you can say the Rocket must have given birth finally. Since it isn't a puppy you can't just give it away. LOL. Just saying might be worth a try. What wife would turn her back on a new baby. :D:eek:

I'm going to try the bridgestone rear tire and shock change.
Could try another red motorcycle but the wife caught me doing the same color theme with remote controlled aircraft!! So I know she's keeping a beautiful eye or two on what goes in and out of the garage. After 43 years of marriage !!!!
