Roadster vs Touring model

Babagris , Since I need to replace the rear tire I may as well try the taller Bridgestone and see if that decreases the required steering input. I sat on the Trophy SE and couldn't hardly touch the ground "sales person that the height of the seat was a problem . Foot pegs to far aft of seat also . rumbler

I want to get a bike that is easier to put thru the twisty back roads and . I was considering a Touring model. I want the best of both worlds.I stll want the full power feel of my R 3 but with improved handling thru turns. Any suggestions that are not of the sexual nature would be appreciated . rumbler05

Are you still running the original suspension?
If you have long legs you could put longer rear shocks as well as the B/stone.
You could also go with the smaller and narrower Michellin Commander II on the front.
I havent tried it but others are saying it makes a difference.
Making this bike handle better would save a lot of money.

Don't make the mistake I did. Try out the Roadster first to make sure you can live with the peg positioning. ..... Hard on us older folks.

I have not ridden a touring, but from the specs, they are a bit different. Wheel base, tire size, and I think rake. The only thing I can add, is that on a roadster, there is NO storage ANYWHERE! You can't even carry a bottle of water, unless you wear a back pack, OR hang bags on the roadster. I got some EZ brackets for my willie/max saddle bags, but it makes my roadster look like a hardly. Windshield and leather streamers from the grips, and I'd fit right in with the old foggies on their road sofas.;)

Another KY rocket guy here...I have the 2012 R3R - and love it for the twisties... While not my sport bike, it's much more comfortable to ride and find it more than enough. I rode with the sports bike on a benefit and while they could corner better - we finished the "lively" ride at the same time. They were all kind of impressed by my machine.

Love all the power and sound effects of the bike. I'll try some suspension up grades and tire combinations. I'ts not like the bike dosen't hold it's own on the back roads .But it does feel heavy and seems to require more input. Can't have a fully dressed out bike I guess and expect it to snap back and forth thru the turns. I suspect a 500 lb. women would be that way in bed also!

Hagon's on the back and a RaceTec gold valve kit up front. There you go.
BTW-RaceTec front end is much improved over the progressive springs.

Send the front to Jim H at Twisted Throttle. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better-you won't believe the difference.

The R3 handles well, very well. but if you are really into handling....get a Ducati!.
These R3s are excellent handlers for the big brutes they are but nothing like the sport bikes Not even close!
