First of ll I will say this a job I would not want to do every day.

Now the question... The new risers seem to have a very slightly smaller radius than the stock and as a result the is a slight gap between the riser radius and the bar. Also, there is a gap between the clamp bracket and the risers whereas the original had virtually no gap. I am afraid to tighten it too far for fear of cracking something. Are these gaps normal?

Cheers

mine had the gap, you're right the radius is a tad tighter than OEM,
but cinch em on down, I did and mine lost the gap and haven't cracked
even after numerous wheelies and coming down a lot harder
than I wanted to a "few" times.

Risers are a pretty robust product ... doubt you will them do any harm.

It's more so the clamp plate that I'm worried about. Plus I was sure about the gap between the clamp plate and the risers.

Not near the gap when you install the clamp the right way around

Now I have it correct it fits like a glove. Haven't had a chance to ride yet but feels good just sitting on it but more importantly, the Brakeaway no longer hits the tank

Should be here Monday or Tuesday, and you know I'll put pictures up,
as soon as I take her for a test ride..
Got tired of waiting on my machinist buddy to have time,
once I started lookin', He couldn't make em as cheap...
We'll see how they turn out.
Might be time to start working on my tank again....
