Rocket III Touring 2014 (previously 2008)
Anybody with a RIII Touring have trouble with the Auxiliary Headlights?

I just got my speedo replaced b/c it worked only half the time...now it's awesome, no problem.

However, 1 of my 2 outer headlights went out. I got a new bulb and it seemed to work fine, for a day or 2. Now neither of the outside lights is working! I flip the switch and nothing. So I know it's not the bulb b/c I just put in a brand new one. ANyone have this problem. It's a pain in the arse to go back to the dealer and deal with the warranty!!! Fishbein 8)

check the fuse sounds like you might hav a short or a loose connection look at the plugs under the tank check all of them while your at it they might have loossened up while they were changing the speedo.

Thanks, dude. I don't even know where the fuses are, I'll have to take a look. I figured it could be a loose wire. Hope it's simple.

if it is like a rocket lift the seat its on the left side of the battery as you sit on it.
all the plugs are most likely under the tank there is a bunch of them som in use some for add ons like lights. clock, heated hand grips, maybe fuel gauge if it is not stock item. It may be a little different since your speedo is on the tank but they used so much from the standard Rocket it is probably similar.

Cool, and if the fuse is blown it'll be fuzzy...

you will be able to see right thru it and tell if its burnt. If it wasn/t happening before you took it in for the speedo my money is on a loose conenctor under the tank.

Call Clinton Cycles and arrange to have them look at it while u wait so u don't mess up the warrenty. My guess is a loose connection since they were in there right before, should be a simple fix.

I'd suggest following the wire from the offending light back to the connection at the wiring harness. That will require removing the instrument cluster, and lifting the tank. There's a prop wand attached to the right side frame rail under the tank (in case you haven't done that before). Look for any place that it might be pinched or where the insulation may have been stripped. Also, when you get to the connection, re-seat it. If everything is good from the light to the wiring harness then the problem most likely is in the harness. That's going to require getting the dealer involved.

FWIW, I've had mine installed for 3000 miles with no problems.

Good luck.

Could be a problem with the relay. Its located under the tank, it plugs into a socket. maybe it has come loose or whatever.

I just installed mine a couple of weeks ago and had no problems...
