Rick Mayer seat feedback/Radar Detectors . . . ??

Just placed my order with Rick Mayer. I enjoyed talking with him about coverings, foam materials and scheduling. Man, is this going to be much better than the killer Triumph seat.

btw, he said he had just finished a Rocket seat. Who else has one being made right now?

Rick Mayer seats

Tdragger,
Rick just did mine. I had him do it in all black leather. He did both the drivers and passenger seat. The passenger seat was the most important to me. It turned out well. I had already had that seat redone from the original factory seat locally here in Idaho. I had the local shop expand the seat pan and make it twice as wide as it was and then pile on the foam about 3 times higher than stock. It still wasn't good enough to keep my wife comfy. I met Rick at a BMW ralley in Oregon. He looked at what we had done to it and he said he could use the wider pan and make the seat.

I'm not yet happy with the drivers seat. Rick decided to make it a little lower and flater than I was hoping for because I'm very short. The wife and I are going to his shop in California while we vacation the 1st week of September. Rick is going to custom fit my seat just for me.

Not sure where on a rocket to mount the receiver unit for radar... without it being obviously on show.. not exactly legal over here..but.....

Same problem here. Of all the 50 of these great United States, Virginia is the sole one that makes it illegal to even POSSESS a radar detector.

I hope it works out for ya.

It is illegal to buy a radar detector here since it would involve "possession". No vendors carry them as well for the same reason.

If you look at mail order ads, most will say "Not available in Virginia" or something similar.
