This may have been covered in another post, but I would like to know the answer to this question.

So if I hookup Tunecu to my Rocket and read the current map and save it to my laptop. If I then go back and change the speedometer correction to let's say... -5.1 and then upload/download the new change to the ECU. Do I need to still need to do the "reset adaptation" and the 12 minute tune since I haven't really made any other changes to the bikes mapping? My thought is...No...since nothing in the actual mapping is changed.

Also, I pulled the speedometer correction setting from another tune I was looking at and it appears that correction number reflects a "percentage" of the speedometer error. Is that the case? It would appear from my own calculations that it represents a "percentage" as that would be what it takes to fix my speedometer error base on the speed error I have been able to determine using my GPS as the gold standard.

Basically, I am sick of my speedometer being 3 to 4 mph off at speed with both with my old tire and my new tire. It just annoys me for some reason and I want it fixed!

Only when I'm "trying" to obey the law! I wish it was in a different place so I didn't have to take my eyes off the road to look at it!
I'm only teasing! You'll be rear ended if doing anything less than 10 over out here.

Motorways in the UK are a 70mph speed limit which was set in 1965...although most drive at 80mph plus.

So you got the speedlimit, but you can register a supercharger. We got the Autobahn, but emission laws prevent superchargers ...

From my basic understanding is, yes, you should do a reset adaption whenever you load a tune, period. Even one that doesn't have any significant changes.

I did the same thing recently and do not do the reset. Bike didn't run well. Did the reset and everything went back to normal.

Note: When you slow down the speedo you also slow down the odo.

Well, problem solved. As you may or may not noticed from my other post, I decided to go all out. I uploaded Wayne's remap on the ECU which had the speedometer correction In it as well. The speedometer is now correct and the bike runs better as well. I believe you are correct on the reset. My upload/download and reset went just as expected without a hitch. As for the Odometer, I've yet to get a ticket based on my odometer. If I ever sell the bike it will show less mileage. Thanks.

The odo reading is important to me as I do certified Iron Butt rides often and the odo has to be accurate. Otherwise, I would do the same.

Glad to hear that you got it sorted.

Interesting , after map loads and reset adaption ive never done a 12 minute tune, think i'll give it a go next time.
