Rented a Harley Electra Glide while on vacation

Just curious....... I've never rented a bike before.... what was the rental fee out there, if you don't mind me asking?

When I rented in Vegas back in March it was just shy of $200 for the day once they added all the fees and taxes etc. They give a small discount when renting for a week but not a lot. Somewhere in and around $1200 for the week.

I've rented a bike a few times in the US, I went with a company called Eagle Riders. Have had great service with them. Rates are dependant on what you want to ride and for how long. For a bike like I rented you can expect $130-$150 a day kind of thing. Expensive for sure.

I feel you on the HD had to run the new touring in the shop fork seals where blown 2800 miles so I got my 08 ultra back from my buddy that bought it from me been riding it all week cant believe that I thought that bike was comfy to ride it shakes rattles and dont roll twist the gas you go no where and can not belive how small it feels but it's a bike to ride sold the roadster Sat. so only 1 rocket now but thats all I have time to ride any way

Well Colorado is on our list for our next set of vacation possibilities along with either Paris, Iceland or Colorado... I hear you have legalized weed down there ;) lol
if you decide on Paris it is relatively easy to take your R3 there been there done that with myR3

Care to expand on that? I would imagine bringing a bike from Canada to France would cost more then my wife and I's plane tickets combined.

I did put my R3 on an air canada flight from calgary to frankfurt in 2010. I spent the summer there and the cost was a bit less than renting .I think I paid around $ 1500 one way as dangerous good cargo .by chance the bike went on the same flight as me truly a fabulous summer splugen pass and all actually I did put up a bunch of pics on this forum
depends on how much you spent for your tickts ( wife and yourself) it is the trip of a lifetime believe me if you want more info email me..

Yeah, I don't get the notion of putting a stereo with speakers on a motorcycle. I suppose it might be nice if you're parked and having an ice cream or something... doing full bore down the road with wind noise and a helmet covering your ears? Yeah, no. I would love a real cruise control though, admittedly.
+1 on this. Especially true if, in addition to the helmet, one is wearing earplugs. I ruines my hearing (tinnitus in both ears) due to a life of unprotected rock concerts and motorcycles. I wear the religiously now, to protect the hearing I have left.

I occasionally use my iPod for music, if I'm on a long highway run.

Back in 2008 I rented a Road King for the day to ride from Vegas to Laughlin for the River Run. Was $129.00/day. Road King was perfectly adequate for that sort of duty and it made a pleasant, in uninvolving, travel companion. This was before I had my R3T and was riding a Boulevard C90 at the time. I'd put the performance of that Road King on about par with the Boulevard, albeit with much better fits and finishes on the RK.

I recommend Eagle Rents highly; the bike was clean and well-services and didn't even hiccup for the entire trip. Also, AMA members get a 10% discount with Eagle Rents now - another reason to use them.
