Bugger sorry to hear that Pete but your right mate , time with the family is whats important now . Im only a jump away mate and happy to drop by to say gday and have a cuppa with ya if you want to have a yarn, promise to get plenty pics of RDU for you to gander at mate.
He really enjoyed your visit on Saturday Sean and I am sure he will be only to keen for another visit from you:thumbsup:

Was inevitable Pete would have to stop riding .. can't have balls like he has and ride a bike in comfort. Your courage and tenacity is the mark of the true man among men that you are mate. I feel I can speak for all your mates .... we are all in awe of how you have handled the cards you have been dealt. See you soon.

I won't be coming this year but you guys will have a great time .I'm pretty sure I took my bike out for my last ride today .unfortunately I have some serious health issues and after another situation occurred out there today all I wanted to do was get the bike home .it is home and I am in one piece.I have pushed the boundaries as far as I am game.I now have to think of my family and not myself .enjoy your selves at the RDU and ride safe guys.

Hey Pete, you'll be missed mate but don't stress, I'll work out a way of hanging crap on you in your absence. hahaha

Sorry to hear your hanging up your boots mate but I have to be honest and say I'm relieved as I can only imagine how anxious your family would be when you were riding. Glad to hear you are putting them first.

Sounds like you made the most of your time saddle mate...never easy when the body gives out before the spirit gives in.

Ok i have all my luggage and swag sorted for RDU , had to make a wooden extension platform for the luggage rack so i could fit my sissy bar bag and Swag on , just need to buy some occy straps and ratchet straps . Also need some large stron garbage bags to cover the sissybar bag with as the original wet weather cover went flying up the road 1st time i used it.

Anyone got any hints or tips for packing on a trip like this ? Im a newbie at doing an interstate trip on a bike so i want to get it right 1st time , im thinking i should pack everything in zip seal bags to keep them dry , sorry for rammbling just getting a bit excited now.......

mate i always pack my clothes in plastic bags just in case, i never take unnecessary things like your hair straightener and dryer . Don't over pack mate jocks, socks a shirt a jumper and thongs .

I have to do something simular so my old faithful Gearsack fits on the luggage rack , I just buy some heavy duty plastic garbage bags to line the gearsack bag and cable tie it closed, I carry spare ties and cut off the and replace as required, getting close mate! Ye Ha!
