Ok i have all my luggage and swag sorted for RDU , had to make a wooden extension platform for the luggage rack so i could fit my sissy bar bag and Swag on , just need to buy some occy straps and ratchet straps . Also need some large stron garbage bags to cover the sissybar bag with as the original wet weather cover went flying up the road 1st time i used it.

Anyone got any hints or tips for packing on a trip like this ? Im a newbie at doing an interstate trip on a bike so i want to get it right 1st time , im thinking i should pack everything in zip seal bags to keep them dry , sorry for rammbling just getting a bit excited now.......
Just poke a toothbrush in your sock and go.

Don't take too much , Put items in a garbage bag , and if need be cover your bag with one , I always get the missis to iron my clothes and i i don't fold them, i roll them up , then you don't need an iron when your there , Also i mainly always take old jocks , socks and t shirts , and thro them away when i've used them , no need to wash clothes then ,pLUS IF YOUR BIKE GETS FULL OF BUGS AND YOUR BORED ONE DAY YOU GOT RAGS , , If i run out theres always someplace i can buy a t shirt for 10 bucks or so .

Keep it simple , don't over pack , and carry bottled water , and a mars bar or apple or something , if your ever sat on the side of the road waiting for assistance , you will be suprised at how quick you get thirsty and hungry .
Now i've given you good advice , hopefully i'll see you there , and you can look at my rig out , it includes the kitchen sink , couple of suitcases , and whatever else i can find ,, Just cos i give advice don't mean i take it HA HA

Wrecka a phone charger hooked up to the bike comes in handy I also have a torch that is able to be charged in the same charger .With the swag I also used to take a blow up mattress as it made sleeping a lot more comfortable and also a pump which also was able to be used with the charger .I have only ever needed to use all the gear I mentioned once when I had an issue with bike out the back of whoop whoop .believe you me it was nice having it.

mate i always pack my clothes in plastic bags just in case, i never take unnecessary things like your hair straightener and dryer . Don't over pack mate jocks, socks a shirt a jumper and thongs .
So i should leave the pubic brush at home ?

Seems im on track then Pete, have 2 charging points , Swag comes with a mattress and i have a small lithium powered torch that should get me out of trouble. im considering taking my Sidchrome tool kit, will fit in the Sissy bar bag but will take up about 1/5th of the space , do yu think tools are necessary ?

I don't even run into town without a few tools and a tire repair kit on the bike
I have that basic OEM kit but it's not enough, think ill just take the fullset i have and be safe , and goes without saying plenty of zip ties and 100mph tape
