Bought my '05 knowing it had the noise. Do a lot of my own mechanical work but took it to the dealer for a fix. First, they installed a shim in the tensioner, no change. Then, they adjusted the valves and installed the upgraded guides. Helped some. Instead of rattling most of the time it only rattled from 1100 rpm to 1800 rpm. Next, they changed the crankshaft sprocket and chain. Fixed. Great to have it fixed. When there is a noise like that it seems like that is all you listen for. Can't really enjoy the ride and exhaust note (tors) with that rattle going on.

..that's not bad..my first service at 10,000 miles was somewhere around $700..I'd say ya done good..here's hoping ya get 100,000 miles out of it..

The crankshaft sprocket was a known issue on the early '05s, glad they caught it for you.
