ouch.. sounds like a bad day.. I've ridden in a light spritz to an Insane downpour... Never had any issues with my rocket in the rain... perhaps a bit lighter touch on the brakes and throttle in the suck... :p ( FYI: Metzelers on the wheels... )

cheers

Jerry,
I think before I sold it off because of the way the tire was during a "light drizzle",
I'd try the dark side,
I know I've riden through monsoons with my Raptor sticking like glue,
Never once yet had it slip on me,
well, unless I was trying on dry payment,
then it leaves a nice black mark..
Just something to consider is all.

Brother, i ride rain or shine to work when in the states most days. The only way I cage it is if it's pouring really hard when I leave the house or too freakin cold. I'll putt down to Galveston on rainy days to grab a burger especially if it's normal Texas rain with is patches of down pour followed by blue sky then more down pour... unless riding 2 up, then I may pull off. I have rode a few bikes in the rain for me Rocket III handles fine? The day I brought her home it was a toad floater from Katy to Friendswood on the beltway, my first time on her and I fell in love she handled very well for a fatty on back. I just stay off the brakes in the rain, but I can tell you the big transition ramps with the high semi loops doing almost a 180 from one freeway to another are squirrely in a fresh rain and heavy traffic no matter what you ride on or in. Maybe get some more rain time. I used to watch the weather and use a 40% rule anything more and I would drive my truck, but half the time they're wrong, now I just ride. Its not ideal riding time, but it's manageable and my Rocket does pretty well. Don't give up on her yet.

i have had no issue in the rain with my 06 classic or my r3t has alwawys handled fine and just went darkside with my r3t havent hit no rain yet with it but im sure it will handle just fine

Hellwalker,
What burger are you riding in the rain for ?

'The Spot" on the seawall just a cool place to watch the traffic and the waves. It's about 25 miles from the house..It seems to me we seldom get consistent long hard showers, more sudden short down burst. I am not talking about taking off in Hurricanes or Severe Thunderstorms just the usual 50/50% afternoon short shower we get in the summer time, I won't let those stop me from riding. The rain never bothered me much, unless it's those big drops coming in sheets at about 60 mph, when it starts hurt, I'll find and over pass or ice house. The post was about the 240 in the rain going to and from work, I did not mean to switch that, I ride to work when I am in the states unless it's pouring really hard when I leave, most times it don't last to long and if the weather is gonna be bad and severe or possibility of flooding I cage it. The issue for me in the rain has not been the tires just the wind screen to short, hehehe.

I rode down from the top of pikes peak in the rain .... on gravel, dirt and pavement and did I mention No guardrails and 14000 feet elevation. Never had a problem. The only problem I have riding in the rain is the wife hitting me in the back of the head telling me to slow down.
