Raboconda Tire Changer for 240 rear wheel?

Two bikes, three tire changes and I was money ahead in time and effort. 15 min change, plus saved me the 45 min drive to the changing place, plus gas and waiting. It does add up quick. I just haven’t changed the 240 rear yet. Been commuting on my other bike primarily and only occasional weekend trips on the Rocket. I do recommend the Raboconda though. And it takes up less space in the garage than other systems.

I dunno $739 USD pays for a lot tire changes.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I'm lucky in that i have a local guy who only charges me $50 and gives me a good price on the tyres too. He was seriously reluctant to do the job when he found out it was a rocket too, he said they are probably the worst tyre to fit and he has been doing it professionally for 40+ years.

I guess it depends on your circumstances, but it doesn't make financial sense to me. My time (and sanity 😂) aren't worth it.

Yes, I have used it and it does work. You need their big hub adapter for the rear wheel. Totally worth it. I figured I have already paid for it by the savings I have had.

Post up the results with pics when you 'git 'er done.'
I may run my current Avon another 1,000 miles and then change to the Bridgestone I have waiting. It still has some decent rubber on it. I'll post here when I change it. Plus my boy is getting married this month; busy with priorities.

hey guy i have some tools like rim protectors ect.
also bought a cheap tire changer that i have mounted on a cherry picker and modified a little bit. i was able to break the tire beads with.
do not know how it will help to remount the tire. the guy i was helping decided iy was to much work (i had a messed up wrist) and took it to a tire place.
remember to keep that bead in the center of the rim when trying to take off or replace the tire.
glad to help if needed.
of coarse i do not know if that newer rim where the tire rides is like the old style.

True, true. Before I bought the Rabo, I looked at how much time it took me to take the tire to a service place I trusted and have the work done and return home. I prefer to unmount my own wheels as well. 3-4 hours if I wait assuming the shop can get to them right then, and most places would have me drop off and pick up in a few days. So my savings is more in time vs the $65 ish a tire change actually cost. Some places are charging 0.5 - 1 hour shop time for tires not bought through them. But either way, it is really the cost in time where I find value. Each person’s situation is different and driving around in LA eats the day away.
